About Us

The Healthy Kids Lab at Cal Poly is dedicated to understanding and promoting healthy behaviors during early childhood. Led by Dr. Alison Ventura, our team conducts research on how parenting, feeding practices, and family environments shape children’s eating behaviors and health outcomes. Rooted in Cal Poly’s Learn by Doing philosophy, we actively involve students and families in every stage of the research process. Through our research, education, and community partnerships, we aim to help every child achieve the healthiest possible foundation for lifelong wellness.
